Is this Hotei on this tsuba ? Any thoughts on the age of it would be appreciated. I was told edo.

sorry to say that - looks "made in China, yesterday". Cast piece, and a very bad casting, too.

Thank you both, the picture is a little blurry. I wondered if that was kanji but its not cut deep so just figured it was scratches.

I got it with the katana I bought last year and just wondered if it had any value.
