Leroy Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Hi all. I hope it's ok to post this here and not in the sales/auction portion... Anyway, I was curious about the werstern letters on this. http://cgi.ebay.com/4032-JP-SAMURAI-SWO ... dZViewItem Is this something to be weary of? The reason I ask is that my interest in fittings is growing, a bit to fast ) I was curious to hear what some of the more experienced collectors thinks. Thanks, Leroy Quote
nagamaki - Franco Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Have seen this exact phrase, FREA FER AFAR, engraved as Bonji once before on a Japanese sword. As described it is an 'Old'; Portugese, English, or Dutch phrase. Quality is of course one important question to answer. Quote
Curran Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 Work by Hirata Kunishige. His work is prolific, and to complicate matters- there are many gimei of his work. Very easy to copy. Quote
