Nobody Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Hi Janusz, The paper was written in Chinese, though I cannot read them. And the mei on the oshigata looks doubtful. The mei seems to be 竹崎来吉, which is strange. Quote
Bungo Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 lookes like a " certified " fake !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! milt the ronin Quote
Bungo Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 but the tsuba books look legit. milt the ronin Quote

Beinf an Ex-colonial from Hong Kong, have studied Chinese since kindergarten through high school( not the abbreviated form promoted by the Mainland commies ). While my knowledge in classical Chinese is now " rusty ", I cannot make sense of the writings. Also the calligraphy sucks ( for lack of a better descriptive term )............ I come to the conclusion that the " shinsa paper " is a poor imitation of the NBTHK paper. There's no description of the sword maker or the sword itself. The issusing " organisation " reads( direct translation )............. Southern Spring Nation. Yeah , right milt the ronin Quote
w.y.chan Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 There are a number of Chinese discussion forums devoted to nihonto. I am pretty sure the growing middle class are increasingly tired of their Paul Chen swords and looking for better stuff. Nothing to do with the above but it wouldnt surprise me if the Mainland setup a body to catalogue surrendered wartime swords because there is serious money to be made. Quote
Hajime Saito Posted April 14, 2007 Author Report Posted April 14, 2007 Thank you for opinions. I won't buy it. Quote
