Drago Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 Hi, http://www.ebay.com/itm/160773915812 - Are those menuki? Three pieces, made from stamped brass, each with two pins on the end. I asked the seller for the size, but only recently, so I haven't gotten an answer yet. Well, I'm bidding on them anyway, but I'd still like to know. Thanks. Quote
Brian Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 No they are not. I wouldn't bother with a bid. Brian Quote
Grey Doffin Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 Tobacco pouch ornaments, I believe. Grey Quote
Geraint Posted March 31, 2012 Report Posted March 31, 2012 Hi Tobias. Some years ago I purchased a small Japanese export box covered in these pressings. The thin pins on the back fixed them to the wood. Not menuki, not even pouch ornaments I fear. All the best. Quote
Drago Posted March 31, 2012 Author Report Posted March 31, 2012 I see, thanks. But I'll bid anyway. The Meoto-Iwa theme is rare (and the details seem good). And it might be usefull later when I have finally built my dream wakizashi (with village theme fuchi-kashira and Meoto-Iwa theme menuki that I already have). Quote
Kai-Gunto Posted April 1, 2012 Report Posted April 1, 2012 Its not menuki, but for the pouch ,as Grey mentioned. Quote
