TTyMiller Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 I currently have three swords and would now like to display them, can anyone give me advise on a good rack for displaying my swords. I see a 5 sword rack on ebay, cough cough. Japanese Cedar Wood SAMURAI KATANA Sword Kake Rack Stand yoroi kabuto Set #5 but I'm not certain if it's worth the $620.00. I don't mind paying for quality as I'm certain I have at least two more Nihontos in my near future. Any advise on where to purchase and type is greatly appreciated. Quote
Henry Wilson Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 I am sure Brock Lusk on the NMB could make you one at a good price. He made a nice kabuto stand for me a while back. Quote

Ken-Hawaii Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Terry, are you looking for a "real" katanakake or just something to hold your swords on the wall? If the latter, check out http://www.amazon.com/8-Tier-Wall-Sword ... B001F4OTJ8, which holds eight swords for $29.86 with free shipping. If you want a little higher quality, browse to http://www.e-bogu.com/Sword-Stand-s/65.htm. Don't know why you had so much trouble finding a rack.... Ken Quote

Mark Andrews Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Hi Terry,You could try here, http://www.seiyudo.com Has a couple of nice Katana-Kake and other items of interest. Just have the translate button handy from Japanese to English. :D Best regards, Mark. Quote
drbvac Posted February 21, 2012 Report Posted February 21, 2012 Another point you may actually want to think about is the number of swords on the rack - I wouldnt want more than 3 and in a push 4 on an unattached rack - on the wall is fine but free standing when you reach for one it is really easy to tip the whole thing over and that can be not a pretty site ! TTyMiller Posted February 21, 2012 Author Report Posted February 21, 2012 Thanks for all of the responses. It was not that I was having a hard time finding a rack I was just uncertain as to the kind and quality I should look for. Brian, thanks for the tip no pun intended. The wife is good with a wall rack so I guess that's the direction I'll take. Thanks again. Quote
