sensei215 Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Greetings, I just had a close friend bring this to me to see if I could read it. Its a little bit beyond my skill set. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The box contains a tanto which I will try to get photos. I enjoyed seeing several old friends at the Minneapolis Shinsa and did well with the Shinsa team. I had a custom made Maso tanto paper very well along with a Kajihei tanto which he actually signed himself along with the blade carver. I also had a fine Bizen Yasumitsu tachi and fittings paper well along with several other pieces. I just booked for Tampa and am looking forward to meeting several of you face to face. I can't begin to say how much enjoyment I get from this site and its members. Tim S http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/83 ... itsu1.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/86 ... itsu2.jpg/ Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 Tim, this one is actually not too difficult. Let us know how much you CAN read and then people will probably fill you in! Quote
John A Stuart Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 This is a sword signed Bizen Osafune Kanemitsu saku. Do you need the other info written? John Quote
sensei215 Posted January 31, 2012 Author Report Posted January 31, 2012 Hi John , Thank you for your help. I could read that amount. Its all the rest that I m not sure of the context. Tim S Quote
cabowen Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 To the right it says it is more than 600 years old. Underneath it gives the length and says it is hira-zukuri. Top left is the date (Showa 23 qoth month). Bottom left is the name and location of the person who wrote the hakogaki: Ittosai Yoshimune of Kyoto. Hope that helps. Quote
