Greetings,

I just had a close friend bring this to me to see if I could read it. Its a little bit beyond my skill set. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The box contains a tanto which I will try to get photos. I enjoyed seeing several old friends at the Minneapolis Shinsa and did well with the Shinsa team. I had a custom made Maso tanto paper very well along with a Kajihei tanto which he actually signed himself along with the blade carver. I also had a fine Bizen Yasumitsu tachi and fittings paper well along with several other pieces. I just booked for Tampa and am looking forward to meeting several of you face to face. I can't begin to say how much enjoyment I get from this site and its members.

To the right it says it is more than 600 years old. Underneath it gives the length and says it is hira-zukuri. Top left is the date (Showa 23 qoth month). Bottom left is the name and location of the person who wrote the hakogaki: Ittosai Yoshimune of Kyoto.

Hope that helps.
