CurtisR Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Thought I'd post this as it's very well done, great music and some very good showings or Nihonto, armor, Ho, etc. I hope I am not out of line for the post? I also noticed that most of those demonstrating are in their 50's or older. Curtis R. Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 How could you be out of line, Curtis? A beautiful clip. Thanks for posting. Quote

Nobody Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Thanks for posting. I like the film. Quote
Thekirsh Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Really really enjoyed it. Thanks Simon Quote
CurtisR Posted January 11, 2012 Author Report Posted January 11, 2012 Thanks all - glad you enjoyed it! I know the NMB is *usually* just for the items themselves and didn't want to post something out of the realam, although thought it was close enough to risk it :D . Happy (almost) Friday! Curtis Quote
drbvac Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Curtis: Very nice indeed. Is that the studio/film maker that did the Sword film for John Martin - Art of the Samauri Sword? I think they may have a lot of these small videos but I cant find the link to the site ! Quote
Curgan Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Thanks! It got all of us who haven't been in Japan yet, to daydream... Quote
b.hennick Posted January 11, 2012 Report Posted January 11, 2012 Loved it! It was interesting to see the Japanese version of seveal arts. It is amazing how many things are the same as in North America and that some are differrent. I remember my wife complaining about removing grass stains from my gi. I can see that the folks in the video will have a similar problem... There was one form where I would have enjoyed to see the whole form rather than just part of the kata. Quote
CurtisR Posted January 12, 2012 Author Report Posted January 12, 2012 Barry, I completely agree...I'm going to guess it's the Iai form/kata with the thrust (Ha upward) that's only shown for second or three during the film? The production company is called "Empty Mind Films" and I believe the entire Embu (or more of at any rate) for a fee. Their website is: http://www.emptymindfilms.com Not sure if the did Mr. Martin's film but it's very possible ~~ I'm glad folks are enjoying it as much as I (who haven't been to Japan either but HAVE had grass stains on my Gi/Hkama Curtis Quote
