Lindus Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 While sorting a bundle of old photographs I found this, taken in the late 80's the swords was inscribed minamoto Amahide & dated 1941. Seems the smith punched the blade every inch the entire length of the blade to produce this, unusual???. Roy Quote
lbkmd43 Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 this hamon is quite common for amahide few folds while tempering I have seen a few of his and his sons works LKanarek MD Quote
cabowen Posted November 25, 2011 Report Posted November 25, 2011 The regularly occurring mokume are the result of punching/drilling of the billet as suggested, not from few folds.... Quote
