Stu W Posted November 16, 2011 Report Posted November 16, 2011 Hello, I have a Kai-gunto with the mei as shown in the attached photo. I did some research and found a couple threads that lead me to believe it was the Tenshōzan Tanrenjo factory mei. It's also pictured here. http://www.h4.dion.ne.jp/~t-ohmura/gunto_045.htm Upon further review I'm now not so sure as there is a difference between mine and the ones I've seen in photos. The difference can probably be explained by someone with more experience or the ability to read kanji and I'd appreciate comments from those who can. As I see them we both have the same anchor mark. Below that they are as follows... 1st characters on the linked example and mine are the same. 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th characters are very close with just a few minor differences. 6th is the same as mine. I then have a 7th kanji that is absent on the linked site photo. My 8th kanji is the same as the one in 7th position on the linked thread example. Thank you for your assistance. Regards, Stu Quote
