Here they are

I am not very confortable :doubt: , the hada could be Oei Bizen but the Hamon is atypical, the mei on the hiraji is finishing far from the nakagojiri and on the hiraji. The mekugi ana is drilled. The shionogi on the nakago looks high as in some Yamato blades

Shinsa is a must to discard the doubts as I am just an amateur

Many thank Jean. This was a fairly modestly priced sword so I'm not surprised that the attribution is probably not morimitsu. Note, the seller thought the mei was bishu osafune samitsu. This smith is apparently listed on nihontoclub and bizen school

Hey Eric,

Samitsu is not a smith that's lised anywhere, as far as I know. Your sword looks to be from around the date on the blade to me... and of good quality. Oei Morimitsu is said to commonly have gunome-choji hamon so... I think overall it has a fair chance of papering, but as Jean said, I'm just an amateur. :)

BTW- Eric, google bo-utsuri and see if you can see this kind of activity on your sword. Utsuri can be hard to spot if you don't know what to look for... but if you can see it, it would help authenticate it as Morimitsu...

Thanks Adam. I'll search around for that term and see if I can find that activity on my sword. Will post addl pics if it looks like I can identify/match. At the end of the day, i'll probably submit it for shinsa. Thanks again for all the help.

Eric
