SSt Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 I was browsing on ebay, had entered "NTBHK" as a search which produced six items, some were NTBHK and others NTHK. This particular one caught my eye, because the NTHK papers do not look quite right. There is no seal overlapping the photo and origami and the kanji looks "wooden" it does not have a free hand flow. http://cgi.ebay.ca/WAKIZASHY-era-KOTO-1 ... dZViewItem Do my eyes deceive me? Quote
John A Stuart Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 Hi, For a buck is quite a deal so far. Sometimes you can not make out the seal in pics. Curious. John Quote
Rich T Posted March 13, 2007 Report Posted March 13, 2007 those are NTHK NPO kanteisho. If you have any concerns over them, I suggest contacting Chris Bowen. I believe he is a member here. Cheers Rich Quote
SSt Posted March 15, 2007 Author Report Posted March 15, 2007 Thank You both. As a seperate but somewhat related issue. Someone has listed on ebay two seperate lots of kanteisho (fittings and swords) for sale, the seller is listed as being in Hawaii. http://myworld.ebay.ca/unryushi/ Are these types of sale common? Grey Doffin Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 I don't see the papers on ebay all that often. Maybe once a year I'll see a group like this. Too bad, though. There's a chance, maybe a good one, that these papers will go to someone who will use them to sell bad swords and kodogu to the unsuspecting. It really helps to be able to read the papers so you can be sure they match the piece. Grey Quote
