ols76 Posted August 24, 2011 Report Posted August 24, 2011 Hello everyone, I am watching 3 sword on eBay right now. I believe that the first one is a chinese fake but 2 other ones look like a real deal. What do you guys think? Thanks Oleg http://www.ebay.com/itm/280727007046?ss ... 1815wt_922 http://www.ebay.com/itm/180712413819?ss ... _500wt_922 http://www.ebay.com/itm/230664003106?ss ... _500wt_922 Quote

ols76 Posted August 24, 2011 Author Report Posted August 24, 2011 I dont know about the first one because it looks like one of those Chinese fakes that you see on ebay. They have similar patina, proof marks and scabbard. Quote
truelotus Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 hahaha ... the 1st one is nco gunto aluminum handled version in very good condition check this out : http://www.h4.dion.ne.jp/~t-ohmura/gunto_070.htm it is a real thing ... but the blade is machine made ... thus this kind of swordis only worth as military relic ... :D Quote

However, i dont like the paint on saya and tsuka looks too good for a 70 year sword and patina on tsuba looks similar to a fake Chinese copy below. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Japanes ... 4cf8f5ebf4 Quote
