Wow..just wow.

That is amazing..especially for those of us with limited access to shows and swords. I felt like I was going to hyperventilate just looking at the video :)

Thanks for giving us some insight into what happens there. I suppose this is where the dealers meet once a year to trade and gather inventory? Is the general public welcome..or is this very much a closed community gathering where you have to know someone?

Regards,

Brian

but it is heavily advertised prior to starting, all the major stores advertise of course. There are catalogues available, you see them on Ebay and Yahoo a bit. If you can read Japanese, you would be able to see the locations. Maybe Guido or Henry or someone can tell us where the last one was.

I just had to cancel going to Japan since I have been called to work this month, the 26th. Lots of oil exploration going on and we have to prepare more tugs than usual. Sounds like this would be a better time to go and the extra month and a half's work will be well spent. Might see some of you there that I only know by the internet. I'll bring some nice single malt, no Suntory for me. John

Hi All, I was wondering (again) if those who are going to the DTI wanted to pool resources and see if we could get group rates at say the Ginza Dai Ichi before they are all booked up. $200 a night. Most hotels in the Ginza Shimbashi area are around that and up. Unless you go to those business mens hotels. They are OK for a night or two but having guests is tough. I just informed work that when my current season's contract is up Oct 20 I will be gone. They gave me no argument so it's on. John

Hi All,

I just talked to the Dai Token Ichi committee. The 2007 Dai Token Ichi will be held on October 27, 28 & 29. In meanwhile, work hard and save your dough. See you all there !

Hi Guido,

I called them up to reconfirm the dates. You're right. It's from October 26 to 28 (Friday thru Sunday). For the first timer, 2,000 yen will give you a 3-day pass and a catalog.

Best,
