Anthony de Vos Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Hello! I wonder if anyone have some recomendations regarding places worth visiting in Amsterdam related to Katchu/Nihonto? Regards, Anthony de Vos Quote
Rich S Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 Anthony - Find the "red light" district and have some fun and forget about Nihonto :-) Rich S Quote
Anthony de Vos Posted August 14, 2011 Author Report Posted August 14, 2011 Hi Rich! Thanks for your recomendation! Me and my dutch wife always go there when we visit (and the coffe shops as well, so we don't need recommendations in that area) so we where thinking of something different this time Anyone else has a rekommendation, Nihonto/Katchu related; Museum? Store? Regards, Anthony de Vos Quote
IanB Posted August 14, 2011 Report Posted August 14, 2011 I cannot see what is exciting about looking at lights, whether they are red or any other colour. Added to that there are coffee shops in other places so that isn't exciting either. What there is however is the Argentinian Steak House - best steaks I've ever had anywhere. There used to be a guy who sold tsuba at the top of Neu Spiegalstraat but it is a few years since I was there. I know there is little in the Rijiksmuseum other than some fine lacquer and objects from Dejima. Ian Bottomley Quote
Anthony de Vos Posted August 14, 2011 Author Report Posted August 14, 2011 Thank you Ian! I will try out the restaurant. Sometimes we walk the antique stores along New Spiegelstrraat, I'll try to find the tsuba store. Last year the Riijks museum was closed, we might have a try this year. Regards, Anthony Quote
