micko Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 hi ,i've noticed there are more of these coming out of Japan lately the seller claims 70 year old,i'd say 5 year old buyer beware. micko http://cgi.ebay.com/H085-Real-KOSHIRAE- ... 35b4297ed7 Quote
Thekirsh Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 The tsuba is a chinese repo but the rest look like genuine koshirae, probably Edo. Simon Quote
sanjuro Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 This seller is catering to the refurbishment newbies who probably constitute a fair percentage of his clientelle. I doubt anyone with any experience is going to be fooled by the repro cast tsuba and the very late Edo (or even later) fuchi and Kashira. Theres no quality here at all, and its obvious. Basically, this entire mounting is crap and the starting price reflects it. Quote
kusunokimasahige Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 I'd never buy a loose koshirae anyway... However, the tsuka as well as saya look genuine to me, the tsuba is a bad copy. The price is ridiculous. KM Quote
Brian Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 The whole thing is basically junk. And if anyone thinks that tsuba is remotely genuine, they deserve to get conned. Brian Quote
Bazza Posted August 4, 2011 Report Posted August 4, 2011 The apprehensive look on the face of the figure on the tsuba seems to say it all... BaZZa. Quote
