tesscoothome123 Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Hi, I have not been able to post here in a while due to some health problems and am happy to get the chance today. I was hoping someone would help translate these for me as I am tagging my swords(Just in case) so my wife knows what they are. I am new compared to many, but have had quite a bit of sucess in the past translating many, but due to medications and changes in sight I recently find this near impossible. What I would like to due for the help is make a donation to the board. Best Regards, John Quote

k morita Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 Hi, As for the hot stamp, I referred from the following link of this forum to a image of hot stamp. viewtopic.php?f=50&t=8010&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=75 It is formal that 眞金(shin-gane) pronounces as "Ma-gane". So, Hot stamp reads " Magane iri". 眞金入 It means Tamahagane steel was used. But,I do not know how many Tama hagane steel was used to the sword. Quote
tesscoothome123 Posted July 17, 2011 Author Report Posted July 17, 2011 Hello, I just want to thank Morita and Koichi for the help you have given me. I would have done this sooner, but have had no power due to electrical problems and a small fire due to a power surge. I thank you again and have made a donation to the board. Regards, John Quote
Brian Posted July 17, 2011 Report Posted July 17, 2011 Thank you John, that is much appreciated I feel like the donations really need to be going to our Japanese friends and contributors (and many Western ones too) Hope things start to look up for you..sounds like you have had a rough time.
