max Posted July 2, 2011 Report Posted July 2, 2011 In case anyone is interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/Wakizashi-Den-Osafu ... 3a67c1c22c Thanks, Max Quote
Curgan Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 Very nice sword and well priced! Do you know what the symbol at the habaki means? Quote
Curran Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 This would be the one Larry has for sale at $5500 in the For Sale section? Stolen photos? No mention of the nasty weird deep groove in it. What the heck is that? I'd like think it was just a camera reflection, but looks like someone cut quite a nasty groove in it with some sort of power tool. Quote

I think it's a reflection at the horimono and oxidation at the ji in the second from the end pic and a large opening at the last of first row. In my (uneducated) opinion it will benefit greatly from a polish. Just in case, as you have consequently displayed a good eye, which picture do you have in mind, Curran? Quote
Brian Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 Max, Is this yours for sale, and if so..I guess it was one that Larry sold previously? Just checking, as that seller id has no activity since '04 and we like to be cautious here on the NMB Brian Quote
cabowen Posted July 3, 2011 Report Posted July 3, 2011 Don't believe was Larry's....I believe this is the gentleman who's family is looking for appraisals/info on a group of swords inherited from his father. Jean- Ato-bori Quote
max Posted July 3, 2011 Author Report Posted July 3, 2011 Brian, Mr. Bowen is correct, it is one of the ones I posted awile ago, and also the same one Larry was trying to sell for my family. I figured I would try my luck on EbAY with it. If this goes well I will be posting one more after it. Thank you all for looking. Thanks, Max Quote
max Posted July 3, 2011 Author Report Posted July 3, 2011 O and one more thing, the reserve is much lower than 5,500, happy bidding. Max Quote
