Hi guys,

A friend owns this Gunto and has asked me to sell it for him. I'm asking you for some help with translation.

There is a Seki stamp above the mei, which I think reads, "Noshu Seki no Ju Fukumoto Kanemune." Is this correct and in either case is there anything you can tell me about the smith?

Greatly appreciated. Grey

Yes, it compares well to those of Kanemune on my oshigata page. If I recall he was the son of Amahide and actually signed most of the blades made by Amahide at his Seki sword factory.

Just checked Slough's book and it says the same and the oshigata also compare favorably.
