help with mei please

After rotating and mirroring the mei:

 

 

I think I can make out the date partially:

昭和 ?? 二 年 三 月

Shôwa ?? Ni Nen San Gatsu

So 3rd month of 1927. In the "??" I think there might be 2 kanji there : ? 合 (? HARU) but I can't really find a zodiacal date that corresponds...

拾(ju) means 10.

二(Ni) means 2.

三月(san-gatsu) means March.

I only knew 十 as Jû, so thanks for the clarification

I've read somewhere that it's more correct to use 'third month' instead of March, but I can't remember the reason for that.

Anyone else out there not comfortable with the way it is cut, and the positioning?

The mei doesn't look right to me...not traditionally chiselled from the pics I see. Please provide an overall pic of the whole nakago if possible?

If the original pic is correct, couldn't the poor chiseling be down to the samoji mei?

Although I must admit that for a blade this age, the nakago patina is worrying to say the least

The mei is definitely not right. Neither is the positioning of the mei or the ana. Something not good here, and even if it turns out to be genuine, it has been badly messed with and should be avoided if you haven't purchased it already.

Btw, try and post pics as a regular jpeg. No need to scan pics and post them as pdfs if you can avoid it.
