MY GRANDFATHER brought these back from Japan durring ww2 and he had 2 of them but i have one due to the fact that i could only take one from my grandmoms house. please i need hlep translating this. thankyou

Hi,

The signature on the tang is "Noshu-ju Ido(family name) Hidetoshi(smith name) saku" ,濃州住井戸秀俊作.

Meaning is : Made by Ido Hidetoshi in Noshu province(Gifu prefecture).

He was WWII era swordsmith in Seki city.

Do you know how much the sword would be worth? even though it is hard to appraise it just give an aprox guess?

from what i can see several hundred DS$, if mounted as a Shwa era tachi maybe 1500 or so based on the mounts
