Henry Wilson Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Does any one have a copy of "Historical and geographical dictionary of Japan" by Edmond Papinot? If so would you recommend buying it to help deepen the study of Japanese swords and fittings? Quote
Ichi Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Hi Henry, Yes, I do. Definitely a must if you are into studying the historial aspect of Japan. It won't give you insight on swords and fittings, but tells you who fought who, when, etc. Quote
Henry Wilson Posted February 19, 2007 Author Report Posted February 19, 2007 Thanks Ichi for the reply. Where did you get your copy? What is the basic break down of the book? ie number of pages, are there pictures, maps etc. Is there Japanese for key names and places, how much did it cost etc. Sorry for all the questions but I have done a google and a yahoo and so far not got much of a feel for the book except that it is cited in a lot of bibliographies and could be quite interesting.
