FrankC Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Hi. I want to see if my sword is a authentic WWII sword or a replica. I don't think its real because it seems to be in too good of condition. Either way its a sweet piece and I like it but I am just curious. Anyone know a way to find out details about this sword? I don't know how to take apart a sword or I would and I don't want to damage it trying to disassemble it with out any Know-How. Here are some pictures I took. Quote
Curgan Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Hi Frank, the poor pictures make it hard to tell, but the poorly done tsukamaki and the mismatched colours make it very hard for the blade to be authentic... Quote
FrankC Posted April 1, 2011 Author Report Posted April 1, 2011 My camera is a piece of crap. I couldn't get any close up pictures to focus. Quote
kusunokimasahige Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 I see the ominous stamped habaki.... Could you please provide sharper pictures ? or borrow a cam which is better from a relative perhaps... For now, i think you have a replica. KM Quote
FrankC Posted April 1, 2011 Author Report Posted April 1, 2011 Yeah I think it is probably fake...but might be cool for the wall above my gun cabinet Quote
