I have contacted several Japanese dealers who I have a business relationship with in Japan and inquired about their safety etc. I have received a few replies so far and some are still open and would like to do business. I will leave the names of the dealers I hear from so that anyone who would like to purchase items and support the Japanese dealers can do so, I hope anyone else that has any information on people that they deal with will post also. One person who has not replied is ebay member daimyou54eb, who usually replies very quickly.

Thank you very much for your Email.

The earthquake happened in east area in Japan.

But I live in west area in Japan. And there is no sea in Nara.

So we do not have the direct damage and influence by the earthquake.

But the damage of the earthquake to the northeast region is serious.

The nuclear power plant is still the critical situation.

I cannot measure the influence on neither the East Japan nor all Japan in future.

I thank for the support from you and the foreign countries.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sincerely,

Hello Eric,

I did not receive your message through the website, but I have been receiving other messages through it.

I have just arrived in Japan , and did not even have time to settle down before the country was hit with this horrible earthquake and tsunami. Everyone is also worried about the nuclear reactor that has been acting up.

Oh, also, I received some condolence messages from a couple of people and they said you had posted the message on a site… so I went to look at it. Thank you, it was very kind of you to do that.

So, please let me know what the items are that you are interested in.

And once again, thank you for everything.

Elisabeth

Dear customers,

You will have heard the devastating news by now of the dreadful earthquake in Japan. Myself and my family are unaffected directly.

Unfortunately many good friends in the Soma region are badly effected, and many lives lost we fear. Presently over 5000 homes in the area are reported to be very badly damaged. I know many of these areas intimately and am greatly shocked to see the devastation as information becomes available. Had my book release not been delayed I was planning a business trip to the area. Luckily I've avoid this tragedy. I will however be offering my assistance to those I know in the Fukushima Prefecture areas of Kashima, Odaka, Soma and Haranomachi/Minami Soma. Because of this I ask you to understand delayed replies to your correspondence.

Shipping will continue on book orders out of Canada, with degree of delay resulting from my efforts to contact and assist my friends in Soma. I trust that you will understand this.

Thank you.

If i remember correctly Daimyou is based near Hiroshima, he might not be affected but maybe a lot of his friends will be.

I got an email the other day of Ebay itself talking about lagging in Japanese postage, which is only understandable.
