Dooblecain Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Hello everyone, Foremost I want to mention how happy I am to find a site with a knowledgeable user base. I am inexperienced yet very interested in the history, study and craft of Japanese blades. That said I have a blade given to me years ago by my father and every now and then I spend a bit looking at its signature, which led me to this site and this posting I believe the blade is most likely showa and may put pictures of the blade itself up in the future. I know that "Hiro" is the 3rd character based on the almost identical nature to the character in the mei from this http://home.earthlink.net/~ttstein/michhiro.jpg showa smith (thanks to the Japanese sword index for this). Added pics, forgive my old camera and its inability to showcase detail Any additional feedback is always greatly appreciated as this newcomer learns quite a bit just by reading the feedback on this forum. k morita Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 Hi, Mei is "Goto Hiromasa". But I do not know where he made the swords. Maybe Seki smith? Quote
