b.hennick Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 This blade has papers and is signed. Since I do not have the blade in hand I am not sure that I have the correct orientation for the mei. It appears to be a nice old blade. All help is appreciated. Help with translation would be appreciated. The papers are NTHK from 1980. Quote
cabowen Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Barry- The family that owns these blades has contacted me as well to help them identify and value everything. Unfortunately, the photos of the swords and papers do not match up. For example, the sword and paper you have posted above do not match: the sword has three mekugi ana and the papers list two, among other differences. Once you start looking through all the documents and swords, you will come to find that it is a jumbled mess. I do not mind helping them but it is a waste of my time to sort this all out and give them all the info if they are going to send these out all over and have others do the same thing.... Quote
reinhard Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 Barry, the NTHK paper is attributing an unsigned blade to the school of Hokke Ichijo, made during Oei era in Bingo province. This is definitely not the blade you are presenting. reinhard Quote
