diprivanman Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Hi there. I've been trying to figure out the date of a sword from the Japanese registration document. I've attached the document.. I can see where it described the nagasa, and says its mumei, etc.. But I can't figure out the date the sword is from. Maybe its not on this document? help? Quote
Grey Doffin Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Hi, ?, This is the Japanese Gov't sword registration card. It will tell you length, signature or mumei, and that the sword has been registered. I says nothing about quality, validity of signature or attribution if mumei, or anything else you might like to learn about the sword. Grey Quote
diprivanman Posted January 7, 2011 Author Report Posted January 7, 2011 Ok thanks. Thats what I wanted to know. I was able to find those things you describe, but didn't know what else was hidden there. Thanks! Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Gifu Prefectural Education Committee. The registration certificate itself is very new, ie 2009. Quote
Muki Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 I think the only date is the date of registration? Quote
Jacques Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Hi, Torokusho says nothing about the date when the sword was made. Quote
