I have difficulty in reading this mei too,

In my humble opinion it seems like sue-seki or sue-bizen.

Is it like 天野????原高有 Ten No ... hara taka ari?

due to the colour the Nakako-tip has been shortened.

Do you think it is a genuine signature?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

The mei is "Amano Kawachi no suke Fjiwara Takazane" 天野河内助藤原高真

This smith is shinshinto smith in Mutsu province.

Morita san,

His province was Dewa (出羽), and actually Ugo (羽後)?

p.s. お帰りなさい。しばらく見かけなかったので心配してました。

Which smith is it? There are two who signed this way concurrently. One in Dewa and one in Ugo. This by Hawley. I guess we need to see oshigata. John

They are the same smith. Ugo had been a part of Dewa until 1869. Dewa was divided to Uzen (羽前) and Ugo (羽後) in 1869.
