Good q.

I too await papers for a katana. I pinged Tom around 10/28 and he indicated the papers were at the calligraphers and he might receive them back by the end of November.

So, should be pretty soon now. Perhaps in time for xmas!

All -

I was hoping to have them in hand to be mailed out individually by now but I am assured they are in the air as we speak. So yes Xmas looks to be the time depending on your geographical location. Stay Tuned!

We do appreciate everyones patience,

Happy Holidays to all from the NTHK!

Certificates were mailed out this past Saturday. We expect that all in North America should receive theirs by Christmas and for those overseas by New Years. If you have not received your certificates by the 31st December please email us at; NTHK2010@toryu-mon.com

Not only 'nihontocraft' but Richard Stein's site as well as mine defines the columns as to what they mean. I copy (xerox) my paper then break out the books (neilson, etc.) and spend a day translating the kanji. It helps to have your 'yellow' slip with you. And this teaches you different kanji which at my age lasts about a day.......

I recently had a go at this myself on an old nthk paper with success thanks to the help here. It includes a ppt with e-kanji that can be pasted into search engines etc:

I also found the below useful as it shows some nthk paper translations. Mine was so old that none matched exactly, hence much added fun:
