Bungo Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 somehow this tsuba doesn't feel like a " Mito " to me ......assuming it's not a Mito ( but most likely it is ), what other alternative schools could it be ? It is bound with a shakudo rim, the hawk is some sort of dark brownish copper, the rabbit is silver/alloy metal, on ishime iron ground. http://www.esnips.com/web/tsuba/?flush=1 files hawk87 through 89.jpg's milt the ronin Quote
Marc BROQUIN Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 Hello Milt, I am the fly fishing partner of Jean. I come back on this old post of this hawk tsuba. I have one looking alike in the composition. Mine is signed by a MASAYOSHI, a tsubako from AIZU SHOAMI. MITO and AIZU SHOAMI are very near from each other, so it might be from that school.
