A number of members have been offered items they were looking for by a "Wilson Carter" supposedly from London, N16 0UH UK, using email address wilsoncrtr42@gmail.com

Please be very wary. My info is that this is a scam Nigerian account being used to defraud people. The person refuses any other payment besides Western Union and won't allow viewing or pick-ups.

Do not be fooled by any contact from someone unknown, and if they are a genuine collector they will be known to someone on the forum or the collector's association in their area.

Same here, got a mail from him a few days ago. I did get a email back when I asked for more info but what he offered I already had. Was interested in his price. Thanks for the warning Brian!

As always...those who have some basic IT knowledge..if you get emails from these guys and are able to extract the ip address from the headers, please let me know. It helps with banning them and making sure they can't even access the site. Make sure everyone you deal with has trackable references!

ID docs are not sufficient...these scammers have plenty of fake documents.

Heh, I received one to, and I received one from the infamous Pawel. Aren't I lucky. Honestly though, Wilson Carter was a little better at what he was doing. At least he tried to sell me something I was semi-looking for. I was looking for a O-Katana, and he tried to sell me a Cold steel O-Katana(I have 3, so naturally I know what they look like). Not sure how doing business with his is, but hey, at least he tried a little harder than Pawel. But be careful guys, way to easy to get scammed now day.

Thanks for the heads up. I got a e-mail from him the other day. He wanted to know if I was still looking for the Item That I posted in The Wanted To Buy Section. So he must be reading this forum. He had the nerve to address me as "Mate" This is why I perfer to buy from A board member in good standing.

He contacted me also about the gendaito Amahide I am looking for. I asked for close up, but I have no reply from him since that. I guess this particular sword is hard to find, even pics are, he could not find any pics to lure me and gave up.

Well well, just when I was feeling left out and unloved, I get an offer from our friend to supply me with an item I posted in the wanted to buy section. Naturally I asked for pictures but unfortunately our friend is having technical difficulties in attaching them to his email. He emails me to inform me of his plight of course. What is a chap to do but offer appropriate condolences and wish him better luck in fiture? Gentleman that I am, I suggested he mail the item to me in Australia for inspection. I was I suggested, quite prepared to send the items back to him at my own expense if they did not prove to be what I was looking for. How much more helpful could I have been? The ungrateful blighter declined my kind offer....... Some people have no gratitude!!!! :D

You know..... I really object to being called 'mate' by a non Australian. It just doesnt sound right coming from a chap in Nigeria.

A true gentleman ... I personally object being called a "mate" at all especially by people I do not even know and want to rip me of my hard earned money....
