Thierry BERNARD Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 Hi an happy new year for all of you I wonder if somebody can help me to determine which organization deliver this kind of paper ( light "grey, blue" paper ) I furthermore would like to understand the main facts of the content. So if you have some spare time I´d be really grateful for your translation help! Best regards Quote
Nobody Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Hi, I only know a little about the paper from hearsay and I do not know the exact fact. The name of the organization is Juho-Token-Kenkyukai (銃砲刀剣研究会). The leader of the group is Kobayashi Yukinobu (小林幸信) who seems to be a polisher. The group seems to be supported by a sword shop. The shop seems to be Musashiya (むさし屋). http://www16.ocn.ne.jp/~musasiya/token.htm The paper says; Wakizashi Mumei (unsigned; attributed to Yamato Daijo Sukesada) Ca. Shotoku (正徳; 1711-1716) Quote

elliottshogun Posted November 13, 2010 Report Posted November 13, 2010 I have been coresponding with this appraisal group. Here's what I found..... NTK - Nihon Tosogu Kenkyukai - appraiser for tosogu is Makio Saruta who also wrote book TOSOGU no BI, Fine Japanese Sword Fittings: MENUKI, 1994. JTK - Juho Token Kenkyukai - appraiser for blades is Kobayashi Yukinobu. I will continue to research this group. Elliott Quote
Dr Fox Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Hi all. Is there any more info on this paper, I ask as I have one here, the only difference being, this certifies as genuine a Wakizashi signed Yukimitsu. How does this paper stack, against the other societies judgements? I ask? As I have been tasked to give a considered opinion on this very question. Quote
leo Posted May 18, 2014 Report Posted May 18, 2014 All the information given above, is correct. In addition to the light blue paper, they issue a light brown paper for better quality blades(like a TH paper). Recently they have also turned down a lot of blades which they thought to be gimei or low quality! I think JTK is trying to gain more respect for the reliability of their kantei papers. But: Regardless how valid the kantei may be, all documents except NBTHK- and NTHK-papers are meaningless for Japanese and most western collectors. Regards, Martin Quote
BIG Posted May 18, 2014 Report Posted May 18, 2014 Hi Leo, What's about the NTKS Papers? Best Regards Quote
leo Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 Sorry, Peter did not see your post in time. NIHONTO KANTEI SHINSAKAI is a rather newer appraisal company. The paper is plain white and they are made in the style of a Hozon paper, but much better paper and photo quality. To be honest that´s all I know about them. If you are interested, I can photograph one. I see them as a premium quality torokusho, nothing more. As for value see my previous post. Regards, Martin Quote
