Opinion about authenticity mei Sukenao blade

Hi guys

I'm Christoph from Belgium and I've been lurking on this board for awhile now, trying to absorb as much knowledge as possible from more enlightened minds. My first blade was a papered mumei Shinto Hirotaka wakizashi that gave me a lot of satisfaction. I sold it to acquire the necessary funds to purchase a new blade.

 

I have my eyes on the following blade; it's a wakizashi signed by the Osaka smith Sukenao but since big names were often faked, I have my reservations about this blade as well. It's not papered and although it's a beautiful blade, I have a gut feeling telling me it might be most likely gimei. I do not have any books were I can verify with an actual authentic Sukenao so I was hoping you might be able to assist me.

Horimono are quiet rare on Sukenao JoJosaku. Some pics to compare

with from Fujishiro Shinto. Sorry, can't scan from Koza.

if the price is low id buy if for the sword itself and not the mei. here is a scan from the yoran.

Difficult to judge whether or not its a genuine Sukenao mei, I might take a chance anyway if the price doesn't go up too high

I think its pretty clear its a gimei. Compare the strokes its nothing like the examples posted and also note the placement of the mekugi-ana.

 

Also look at the nakago-jiri the shape is just not quite right.

I agree with Peter and Mike,

 

It is a Gimei, compare the "kami" kanji of your sword with the scanned examples .....

 

Nevertheless, it is a really fine blade (the hell with gimei), if you want to buy it at a reasonable price you could do a lot of worse

 

I have got a yoroï doshi with good koshirae and a gimei "Mondo no Sho Masakiyo". Nevertheless I bought it for its quality and its koshirae.
