Brian Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Hi all, Can anyone assist with the following mei, and give any info at all? These are the only pics I have for now. I assume a Showato, but some things about the mei don't look great, such as placement and spacing. Any info I can pass on would be appreciated. Brian Quote

george trotter Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Hi Brian, In my opinion, the writing is quite well done and attractive. I can't speak for that particular blade, but he is recorded as a Gendai tosho. According to the Tosho banzuke compiled by Jinsoo Kim his name is Yaju Yoshikiyo...born Meiji 27... won 4th seat in 1941, won gold award and other prizes and worked after the war . Any chance of pics? Regards, George. Quote
Brian Posted October 15, 2010 Author Report Posted October 15, 2010 Thank you very much Morita san and George san. I really appreciate it. No pics of the blade yet, but will post them as soon as they are forwarded. The mounts look to be a write off on this one, so only the blade that has some hope. Brian Quote
