The show is 90% WWII Greman, prices are way high. Once in a while you can find something but less than some years back (guess that is same everywhere). I did buy the "junk" sword with cutting test at an auction there, it was covered on another thread.

Joe, Mark, how did it go? any great finds? always wanted to make the Max. Heard prices are crazy tho.

It was a bit disappointing. Not a lot to see and what was to be seen was remarkably high. There was a Showato Kanemichi Kai Gunto selling for $5,500. Admittedly the blade and mounts were in good shape, but I almost hit the floor when I heard the price. The deal of the show was a Late 44 mounted mumei (I would bet the farm it was Nagamitsu) sword that sold for $1,600. Blade was in pristine shape (not the best Nagamitsu I have seen, but up their) and mounts were very nice as well, with tight tsuka-ito and no lacquer loss on the saya. I saw that sell in the first ten minutes and it was down hill from there - keep in mind I primarily look for gendai blade of which there were little to none.
