Clive Sinclaire Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Gentlemen I have been sent the following link which details a new book by Yoshihara Yoshindo and Lonnie Kapp. It is http://www.theartofthejapanesesword.com Confusingly this seems to say that it will be out in Sept 2011 but according to Lonnie at the San Fran show, where there were drafts of a number of pages, it will be published early next year. I will attempt to clarify this. (by the way, there is a short essay by me in it!). Regards Clive Sinclaire Quote
Clive Sinclaire Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 Further to the above, I now understand that Yoshihara Yoshindo will be presenting a sword to New York City on 11th Sep (9/11) 2011. Clive Sinclaire Quote
Brian Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 Thanks Clive. I'll be looking out for that one. Brian Quote

Guido Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Looks like a jazzed up version of the "crafts" book - I love the Yoshihara cation figure, though ("collect all 12"?) ... Quote
Lorenzo Posted October 8, 2010 Report Posted October 8, 2010 Firstly I would like to say that I am not in any way related to the publisher or others, so I just put the link moved by curiosity; most of all because I had exactly the same thoughts as Guido... and my thoughts hasn't still changed. What I can say is that I have read what the writers says about it. It was planned as a book written by the Italian author developing the gokaden part of the old "The craft of the Japanese sword" but it the project was turned down, and became instead of a descriptive book a fully illustrated book, with pictures taken in Yoshindo's Tokyo workplace. So the book shows Yoshindo working on a sword page by page; 250 in total. I have no more infos by now, but I will add if I get. Quote
