Brian Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Machine made when refering to Japanese swords doesn't mean what you think it does. They were mass produced, but still by a swordsmith, just not fully traditionally. The iron might have been Western steel, power hammers used, etc etc. But they were signed, because they were made by a smith. Still considered mass produced though. The NCO Shin Gunto was fully machine made, no smith involved. Brian Quote
