Looking for crab sukashi tsuba pitures

I also like the tsuba-dome-ana on the Boston one because they look like the target of the crab itself. Very cleverly done

Unfortunately there is *no Tsuba, the one thing this thread is about.

 

Menuki, Fuchi, Kashira, Kurigata and Kojiri are all of a crab theme, in various metals, on fine nanakoji.

This one has been been hitting the gym during covid... maybe taking some growth enhancers?

Same pattern we've seen a few times now, but look at the size of the claws on this one!

The claws look like those of a 'Spanner Crab'  but the rest of the anatomy doesn't fit.

The 'Samurai' or Heike crab doesn't have symmetrical claws, so it isn't that species either.

Oh wow, going off piste here for a second, but your Choshu tsuba there Glen (and Ed on the previous page) by Tomonobu is very similar to one I have, only without the crab!

This one just ended recently, and sold for some big numbers, but I'm not surprised.

Looks even better than the Owari one from the Tokyo museum that Steve posted.

I'll post an image of my crab sukashi - I think it is a modern hobby piece, the rim and legs are very thin and the whole thing is very lightweight. It didn't set me back much so no big drama.
