I have recently found this great site and have a couple question for the veterans here. First, I would like to know what books I can buy to read and learn about Japanese swords and in the distant future translate and second I would like help translating a couple swords my grandpa brought home from WW2. Thank you for you help and as you can tell I am a newbie. Regards, John

i think there was a thread in the past about books, you might try a search. Sword says Ichiryushi saku, check R Steins website he has a bunch of info on him, look under Nagamitsu

Hi Bran, Yes I did play around with the color, contrast, and brightness but the tang is still pretty bright. This is from a late war sword with marine mounts and a machine made blade I believe. I have just taken the hadle off for the first time as it has sat for years. John
