pcfarrar Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Anyone have any thoughts on this o-suriage wakizashi? It has masame in the shinogi-ji, shirake utsuri and a Mino hamon so I wondered if it might be late Muromachi? The hamon has lots of clumped up little choji with some togari-ba here and there. It's been nicely shortened with a well made new nakago. Midare komi boshi on both sides with hakikake. Thanks, Peter Quote
cabowen Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Hamon looks more Bizen than Mino, at least what I can see of it....masame in the shinogi-ji points more to shinto than koto. Quote
Jacques Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Hi, Would like to see the start of the hamon and some close up of the utsuri if possible Quote
nagamaki - Franco Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Perhaps Kaga ..... . Quote
Basho12 Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 If the boshi isn't suguha, wouldn't that point to koto? Quote
pcfarrar Posted September 16, 2010 Author Report Posted September 16, 2010 I'll get a photo of the nakago and hamachi later on. The hamon runs straight into the nakago so I have little doubt the whole thing is blade steel. The shirake utsuri will probably be quite hard to photo. I'm guessing with the Bizen hamon, shirake utsuri, midare komi boshi, Bungo Takada is a strong possibility? Quote
