cabowen Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 Kanetoshi is the smith...Showa stamp indicated non-traditionally made blade. If the mounting is contemporary to the blade it was mounted as an iai-to, not gunto.... Quote
george trotter Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 Your sword says "Noshu Ju Kumazawa Kanetoshi Saku" with "Sho" stamp. This is a WWII non-traditionally made (probably) military sword...made by Kumazawa Kunitoshi in Seki. They made something like 17,000 swords per month there. regards, George. Quote
SwordGuyJoe Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 Chris is right. This is seki tosho Kumazawa Kanetoshi (熊沢兼俊) listed here towards the bottom of the page: http://www.jp-sword.com/files/seki/gendaito.html Edit: looks like George beat me to it! Quote
