Bill,

This reads

RHS "Fujiwara Kanenaga".... this is possibly Kawamura Kanenaga of Gifu.

LHS..."Fu? Sabi Hagane Saku" (I think)..made of anti rust steel.

He was a good maker, He often called himself "Nara Taro", but this blade, being made of a form of stainless steel should be considered a military sword (gunto), not traditionally made.

What are the details of the other Navy officer's sword?

Regards,

George.
