lonesomeagle1 Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 My name is Pete Pensec. I am a Photographer/Graphic Artist specializing in large format graphic production for a major Pharmaceutical company. I currently have 4 swords that I inherited from my dad when he past away. He served in WWII from 1943-1945. He was with Gen. McArthur's Island hopping brigade and recalled collecting the 2 military swords on the battlefield and the others when they occupied Japan. I even have a photo of him at the bedside of General Tojo when he attempted suicide. He brought back 2 Military mounted swords, 1 Police Saber and a Wakizashi. I am currently trying to get some info about the Wakizashi.. It appears to have great age. I will post some photos when I can. I'm looking forward to sharing with you and getting any insight you can pass on. Pete Quote

Takahashi Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 Welcome Pete! If you are trying to find some information on the blades you got, the NMB is the place to be . Some people around here have tons of information on nihonto and (which is even more important) are willing to share their knowledge. Cheers, Quote
David Flynn Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 G'day Pete, hope you find the information you need. Quote
GreggDavey Posted August 30, 2010 Report Posted August 30, 2010 Pete, I'm doing some research on the day Tojo was captured and one of his swords. I would love to talk to you and/or your dad about the picture you have. Please contact me either here or me through my Blog. http://tojos-hara-kiri-sword.com/ Regards, Gregg Quote
