Newly made traditionally made swords.

Where are they? Ones made in the 80's, 90's or 2000's.

You can search online and find site after site of swords made all the way back to the 1300s, tons from the 1600s, which is incredible to me, but try to find one made last year! :rotfl:

I found one site that had sold 2 unpolished blades from a few years ago that that's about it.

Just curious.

Thanks,

This is not the forum for that Discussion, but there are many sites- and sources for such blades.

PM me-I might be able to help a bit.

A good q, IMO. I has the same one, and came across the moderntosho link posted. I find it odd they have such low inventory. At 2 katanas a month all those modern smiths must have some other sales outlet. Perhaps private commissions?

This is the general discussion forum. This isn't a WTB post, just wonder where they are?

Are they gerenally not sold or marketed online? If so that's fair and I can understand that.

I'm just curious if they are out there I'd like to look.

I found the Modern Tosho site that's the one I was talking about in my previous post. Just didn't name it.

Thanks,

I missed that you signed and apologize. My bad

You might try Swordstore.com as well. They will have pieces commissioned for you as well. I don't believe they hold inventory at all though. They are easy to work with though.

Most Japanese order newly made swords from smiths to their specifications and smiths, because of the costs involved, rarely carry any "inventory". I knew several smiths personally and have ordered many swords. I would be happy to help if you have any questions on what is involved.
