Hi Greg,

The website tells you pretty much what it is; whether it makes sense for you to buy it is a question only you can answer.

I just answered your other post about the Chinese fake. If you're at a level (rank beginner) where you didn't know if that sword was right, you need to be reading and studying more than you need to be buying. Take some time to learn, look at all the good swords you possibly can, and then you'll have a much better idea what you should buy. Not saying you shouldn't buy the sword on Nihontocraft; just that study before buying makes sense.

Grey is right,

First, you must be able to tell a fake from a real Nihonto.

Second, you must be able to see what is quality, not so easy. Hataraki though pleasant to the eyes do not make quality

Read a book or two, go to the Commercial sites of Dr Stein and look at the pictures. The best scans are IMO on Aoi-Art website. This is an option if you don't have access to real Nihonto.

Once you have seen one hundred Nihonto, you will be able to spot fakes. After, study the Juyo scans and try to determine why the sword has achieved this level. That is quality.

What Jean and Grey are telling you is coming from many years experience. It would be a foolish man who did not take heed of them. Although I said in my previous post that the Nihontocraft sword would be a reasonable choice for a beginner, you first need to know why I think so. If you knew why, then you would have no need to ask our opinions.

The opinions you will get from this board are not meant to encourage or discourage you as regards what sword you purchase. Only you can make that decision. That decision is best made in the light of knowledge...... your own knowledge.

Remember there is a vast difference between enthusiastic buying and sensible buying. ;)

Dear Grey, Dear Jean,

sorry for my ignorance, but as I am a newbie as well please be so kind and explain why you think this blade is a fake?

As Grey mentioned I read the description of this sword many times, I have looked the pics of the blade carefully, but.... :dunno:

Many thanks

Klaus

You misunderstood. This one is not a copy/fake. There was reference to another thread I started abbot another sword. That one is a fake.
