nihonto1001 Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 FYI... I just got a letter from the FLTK c.o. Troy Baxley. It states their Tampa Sword Show is done. I wonder if this means Al Bardi is not going to continue the show? Jon Quote
Curran Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Don't know. Been in Florida for a number of years and a member, but either get nothing or 2 copies of various mailings. I thought it a stretch that Bardi could manage it from Hawaii, but hoped he could prove me wrong. Be a hero to me for that. So I hope you are wrong and someone educates us soon. Quote
Mark Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 I think Al is doing the show but it is no longer the FTK show, i have a flyer for the show and it is called TAMPA Japanese SWORD SHOW. It is just that the FTK has nothing to do with it so their show is ended Quote
Ted Tenold Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Al Bardi is promoting the show on his own, without the Florida Club. I received the letter as well and it's basically the formal announcement to the membership reaffirming what was said earlier this year. Al Bardi is going to promote it as an art and arms show which will include early firearms (early arms such as early percussion and lock types, not rim or centerfire). He's also promoting it as a public show which will be a very welcomed change. I think we can consider this a new show in the same basic time slot and location as the now defunct FTK show. Way to go Uncle Al!! Quote
Pete Klein Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Curran -- Al lives in Florida now. Quote

Curran Posted August 4, 2010 Report Posted August 4, 2010 Peter, Al lives in Florida now? No friggin way! Your coast, my coast, or the panhandle? If over here, he's welcome to some cigars out of the humidor if he wants to drop by. An open show should be much better. I know the antique firearm aspect will bring some collectors down from the NE. I'll bring the great great uncle's Civil War Police Revolver for the gunnies. Quote
