shibeni Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Hello, I kindly ask for any information about meaning of kanji on my Kabuto and help to correct reconstruct it's fool shape . Thank you very much, Bojan S. EU Quote
John A Stuart Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Hi Bojan, I think it is the bonji (siddham) script 'kan' representing Fudo-Myoo. John Quote
sanjuro Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Not to be contentious, but the bonji is actually Dai Nichi. I cant scan the picture I have as reference, (scanner on the blink) but page 184 of Joly and Hogitaro 'Sword and Same' gives it exactly as filled in by the original poster on the photograph. Quote

Nobody Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Dainichi Nyorai is the main idol of Shingon Buddhism (真言宗). Quote
sanjuro Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Thanks Koichi San. I'm better at weaponry than I am at theology. :? It just struck me what a wierd irony there was in this question and answer. I asked Anybody the question and got my answer from Nobody. Quote
