Hi all

First I want to share with you this nice koshirae with sakura theme (made by one fitting maker ???).

Actually, the fuchi, kojiri and kozuka is sign.

I guess there is a peom on one side of the kozuka. Actually, the kozuka size is not standard as we might often see. This one is slightly smaller.

Maurice

The theme is not Sakura but Ume (梅). Ume also appears in the poem, though I cannot read several characters in it.

The craftsman’s name is Yoshida Shiei (吉田至永, 1834 - 1904), who was a pupil of Ichijo (一乗).

I agree with Moriyama-san .

The meaning of Haiku poem on kozuka is very peaceful.

世の憂さを、知らぬ 住居(すまい)や、梅の花。

(世間の煩わしさなど知らぬように、この家の庭には梅の花が咲いている。)

please Moriyama san, i can't translate it in to English well. :bowdown:

Edit, sorry not chisui but Chiei, on my attached photo.

Maybe Shiei. :?:

Oh yes yes , Shiei is correct.

Conditions of my eyes are bad today. ;)

Nonliterally;

Ume blossoms are peacefully blooming in my home, as if there is no gloom in the world.

Thank you very much Moriyama san, nice translation of the Haiku poem. :clap:
