posted this in the millitary section first, but should have done it here. anyway, have a ww2 that was supposedly traditionally made, but would like a translation of the signature on the blade. there are no arsenal stamps or any other markings except the mei and the stocking paint (assume thats the brown paint). any help would be appreciated. thanks again, Darrin T.

Per forum rules, you may want to post your real name.

Secondly, since you're asking if the blade is believed to be handmade, you might want to post some pictures of the blade as well.

As much detail as possible helps. Mei, Whole blade, and Boshi (tip)

You'll find many willing to help.

another person on the other forum listed noguchi kiyomiya. not much pops up with a search for that name or noguchi toru.

i dont have pics of the blade to post right now as its in the hands of polisher. i know its nothing of value but i am getting it cleaned up to give to my son when he gets older. i had it looked at by Robert Benson first (great guy), and he confirmed not much value except to a ww2 collector. though the tsuba was pretty nice (not standard gunto type, but an older shakudo of catfish with gold rim and gold highlights).

thanks for the help

Darrin
