Wickstrom Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 Hello I was looking to get new koshirae for a shinto wakizashi in Gunto mounts i just purchased and was wondering if anybody had any recommendations for good lacquered saya makers and other fittings. Thanks Quote
drbvac Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 Maybe you could click on the search button just under the title page and put in restoration or saya makers etc. I know it is a bit of a pain but when I first joined it saved a lot of repeat answers unless you are looking for specific items Quote

Amon Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 Hi! There is also Thomas L. Buck http://www.tsukamaki.net Kind regards, Quote
doug e lewis Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 in Dr. Buck's site he mentions that he no longer makes new sayas. he recommends Mike Virgadamo, who lives in Pasadena, CA -- he is listed in the phone book. i second his recommendation for three reasons: i have seen his work, and his carving methods personally; he has been doing it for 30 years; he is a personal friend and partly responsible for intensifying my interest in nihonto. give him a call. doug e Quote
