Shipping to China

I just sold a sword on ebay to a bidder from China. I would appreciate advice from anyone with experience in shipping to China on costs, shippers to use, difficulties, customs procedures, etc. Thanks,

Third hand information off the internet so take it for what it's worth but I understand it is very difficult to import a sword into China.

The question came up in the above thread(hope you can read it); I know Lance well so it's probably good info but nothing verifiable as I've never tried.

Hi Dale,

About 3 years ago I sold a sword to China. USPS international priority mail with insurance and no shucking or jiving on the customs form (listed it as antique sword, I think); all went well.

Perhaps things have changed since then (don't know) but maybe you'll have no difficulty.

It's not worth the risk shipping to China. The danger of paypal chargebacks, stolen credit cards, and shipping/customs problems just make it too risky.

The dangers of chargeback if shipped to the Paypal verified address is low. As long as you follow Paypal's shipping policies, you should have no problems as long as you keep all records of shipment.
